Random thoughts and stylings

Just a thought on America today as we are living it. Nearly one half of all marriages end up in divorce and many homes have only one parent. I want to give kudos to all those single parents that are struggling to make it in today’s society and still do a great job of bringing up their children. It is an amazing thing to see.

As a father and knowing how hard it is to get a couple of boys ready even with the help of my wife how much harder for those without a spouse. Congrats to all you single parents that do it day and night. You are true modern day heros.

I mean really think about it. You not only have to get yourself ready (eat, showered, dressed, etc.), but also one or more other little people that may not want to get ready or have just soiled themselves. Then once you do get them ready they start playing and get filthy again. After you finally get them prepared to go you have to get load them into a vehicle, drop them off at a specified location and try to make it to work or school or wherever on time yourself. If someone is sick you have to take off. If your sick, well sorry you still have to take care of the children because there is no one else.

Any one who is in this situation inspires me to do my best and prove that at all odds with God’s help I can pull through just about anything. I know the proper thing to day is you can do anything not just about, but let’s admit it sometimes seems beyond us even with his help and we just don’t do whatever it is. But that is off topic.

I think sometimes this kind of effort goes not only to single parents, but also to those (my wife included) that get the children ready when their spouse is already at work. Keep up the good work and continue to fight the good fight for the children are worth it.
